AEK to face Celtic in Champions League
The UEFA Champions League second qualifying round reached its completion on Wednesday evening, with Celtic beating Rosenborg 3:1 on aggregate to become AEK Athens’ opponents in the next phase.

In last week’s draw, reigning Greek champions AEK were pitted to face the winner of the Celtic-Rosenborg pairing in the Champions League third qualifying round, and it’s now official that the Kitrinomavri will take on the Scots.
Celtic, who have won the past seven Scottish championships in a row, conceded an early away goal against Rosenborg in the first leg with Birger Meling scoring, but goals from Odsonne Edouard (2) and Olivier Ntcham eventually gave the Glasgow outfit a 3:1 advantage. In Norway, Rosenborg did have some opportunities to make it a nervy finish, however Celtic held on to draw 0:0 and qualify.
The first match will take place at Celtic Park in Glasgow on August 8 (20:45 CET), before AEK host the return in Athens on August 14 (20:00 CET).
