Olympiacos came from behind to defeat Hungary’s Szolnoki VSC 11-10 in the LEN Champions League.

Both teams were pretty even from the start, with the score being 2-2 after the first period. The Hungarians went up 5-2 in the second period, but two late goals from the Erythrolefki were enough to reduce this lead to just 5-4.
Olympiacos carried his momentum into the third period, and a goal from Alexandros Gounas with one second left in the period gave them a 9-8 lead. Olympiacos then held on in the fourth period for an 11-10 win. It should be noted that when these two teams last met back in December in Hungary, the match ended in a 9-9 draw.
Five different players led Olympiacos today, with two goals each. Olympiacos will next travel to Croatia to face HAVK Mladost Zagreb on March 27. The Greeks won their previous meeting 13-8.
