Apollon hosted Nea Salamina at the Tsireio Stadium in Limassol looking for a win that would help them climb higher in the table. With a dominant end to the first half, Apollon sealed the win.

First, it was Emilio Zelaya who struck with a header in the 31st minute to beat Tasos Kissas for the opener. Serge Gakpe doubled Apollon’s lead in the 40th minute as Kissas was unable to stop his long but relatively easy shot. Gakpe struck again just before halftime, with an unstoppable effort to send his side into the locker rooms with a 3:0 lead.

The three-goal deficit made things simpler for the hosts in the second half with Salamina only managing to answer in the 68th minute after Charles Eloundou was brought down in Apollon’s penalty area. Kingsley Onuegbu beat Joel Mall to put his name on the scoreboard. That is all the visitors could manage and during stoppage time, Facundo Pereyra scored as well with a rocket that Kissas could not stop to form the final 4:1 scoreline.

Apollon are now fifth with 17 points, three points clear of Salamina who retreat to seventh.

Doxa Katokopias visited Pafos FC at the Stelios Kyriakides Stadium in Paphos in a must win game. The home side enjoyed superiority throughout the match, however, Doxa held off the pressure and with a heartbreaking goal in the 89th minute, escaped with the three points. After a ball from Vasilis Papafotis, Dorian Dervite broke in the back of the Doxa defense to beat Artur Rudko with a match-winning header.

Doxa took the 1-0 win and received a major boost in the fight to avoid the drop, but are still in last place with six points alongside Paralimni. Pafos disappointed once again and are in ninth place with 12 points.
