IONIKOS NIKAIA 79-86 KOLOSSOS RODOU

Last week, Kolossos suffered a disappointing defeat against Larisa at home, but they compensated for that loss with a hard-fought victory at Ionikos Nikaia in Palaio Faliro.

In an evenly-matched contest, the teams won two periods each, but an 11-point victory in the third quarter proved decisive for Kolossos. The Rhodes-based club have won four out of their eight Basket League games.

Ionikos Nikaia have now lost two in a row after previously winning four successive matches.

Lasannah Kromah was the leading Kolossos performer with 17 points, six rebounds and five assists.

PAOK 78-56 RETHYMNO CRETAN KINGS

There is a feeling that PAOK are finally clicking into gear. Playing with more confidence after two consecutive wins in the Basketball Champions League, the Dikefalos tou Vorra impressed against Rethymno in Thessaloniki, outscoring their opponents by 22 points.

This is PAOK’s third Basket League win of the campaign. PAOK ended the game as a contest in the first quarter as they registered a huge 33 points.

Antwaine Wiggins achieved a double-double with 17 points and 12 rebounds.

LARISA 58-63 IFAISTOS LIMNOU

Ifaistos Limnou gained more momentum as they edged past Larisa 63-58 on the road to pick up their fifth league victory of the campaign.

Larisa, on the other hand, have now already conceded six defeats as they continue to remain among the backmarkers. The second quarter was key on Saturday as Ifaistos Limnou won it 18-7 with wonderful defensive play.

Jerry Smith stood out for the visitors by scoring 17 points.

PROMITHEAS 87-76 PANIONIOS

Fresh from earning another victory in the EuroCup during the week, Promitheas comfortably defeated Panionios in Patras with a strong attacking showing.

Making a positive start, Panionios took a four-point lead in the first quarter, but Promitheas responded with a 10-point win in the second stanza. Promitheas then won the third period to firmly put themselves in the box seat.

Promitheas have earned six victories in eight Basket League matches. Panionios only have two wins on the board.

Langston Hall was in fine scoring form as he grabbed 23 points.

LAVRIO 60-73 AEK

Can anyone stop Keith Langford? Enjoying a memorable season, the experienced American once again shone for AEK on Saturday, scoring 33 points in a 13-point triumph at Lavrio. Langford had registered 35 points last week against Iraklis.

AEK won all four periods against Lavrio as they recovered from their surprise Basketball Champions League defeat midweek.

Lavrio, despite the defeat, are above AEK in the table with five victories in eight games. AEK have won four matches.

ARIS 72-59 PERISTERI

What a way for Aris to get back to winning ways. Without a victory since matchday one, Aris shone against high-flying Peristeri in Thessaloniki, restricting their opponents to 59 points as they deservedly earned a vital triumph.

Lefteris Bochoridis gained 27 points for the home team.

This was only Peristeri’s second setback of the Basket League season.
