Having started well, Lamia promptly had an ideal chance to take the lead in the 19th minute as Alexandros Karamanos was fouled by Fran Velez inside the Aris box, but Andreas Vasilogiannis’ spot-kick was expertly stopped by the agile Julian Cuesta.

Nevertheless, the hosts eventually took the lead just five minutes later, as the experienced Christos Aravidis hooked his shot over Cuesta after escaping his marker.

A lead which was doubled at the start of the second half.

Once again, Aravidis was the Lamia hero, glancing a deflected corner over the line with his head.

However, Aris weren’t prepared to wave the white flag, and the away side halved the deficit in the 52nd minute with Daniel Larsson curling a delightful effort into the right corner.

Ideye subsequently got Aris level a mere 120 seconds later when connecting with a low cross at point blank range.

During the remainder of the second half, both teams created a handful of promising chances, but the score wouldn’t change.

At the moment, Aris are fifth in the Super League with 34 points on the board, while Lamia sit in ninth position with 27 points.

Lamia will travel to OFI for their final game of the regular season next week. Aris, for their part, will host Atromitos.
