A penalty from the top flight’s top scorer Efthymis Koulouris after 18 minutes, a Yaya Banana own goal in the 26th minute and a Clarck N’Sikulu strike 11 minutes into the second half sealed all three points for Damir Canadi’s team against a Panionios side which had no answer to the hosts’ enterprising play.

With AEK losing 2-0 to Aris on Saturday, the result of this Matchday 23 clash enabled Atromitos to capitalise and overtake AEK, knocking the Kitrinomavri to fourth place on goal difference, since both teams are level on 43 points.

Atromitos are now six games unbeaten while Panionios remain down in 10th place with 26 points from their 23 games played so far.

Stalemate in Crete for OFI and Larissa

OFI 0 - 0 Larissa

In Heraklion, relegation-threatened OFI remain second from bottom of the table after playing out a goalless draw at home to fellow strugglers Larissa.

The game was far from an entertaining spectacle between two clubs who are fighting to stay up, and the result does little to help either side’s cause.

OFI are still worse off, as they remain in the second relegation place two points adrift of safety. Larissa are up in 11th, five points ahead of the Cretans.
