Balanced attack fuels Olympiacos’ strong start

Olympiacos have already played 20 matches this season stretching back to their Champions’ League qualifiers which began in July. The superb run during those qualifiers and the club’s strong start to the domestic campaign in the Super League 1 has been fueled by a balanced attack.
In 20 matches, the team have scored 36 goals in all competitions, split evenly between European and Super League 1 matches. Youssef El-Arabi leads the team with seven goals on the season (four in the Super League 1, three in Europe) followed by Hilal Soudani (five goals in Greece, zero in Europe).
Four players are tied with four goals in all competitions including Mathieu Valbuena, Miguel Angel Guerrero ( both with two in Greece and Europe), Guilherme, and Ruben Semedo ( both with one in Greece, three in Europe).
Daniel Podence is on three goals (one in Greece, two in Europe) while three players, Lazar Randelovic (two in Europe), Giorgos Masouras (one each in Greece and Europe), and Mady Camara (one in Super League 1) have also chipped in goals.
While no one player is tearing up the scoring charts, Olympiacos are spreading the goals around quite effectively between the main strikers (El-Arabi and Guerrero), wingers (Soudani, Podence, Masouras, Randelovic), and midfielders (Guilherme, Valbuena, and Camara).
Should the team continue to keep up this production it will undoubtedly help in the club achieving its targets for the season.
