However, due to having already played for Legia Warsaw and Al-Wahda in the current campaign, he is not allowed to represent Panathinaikos in official games until the 2020/2021 season starts.

Carlitos joined Al-Wahda from Legia in September, subsequently scoring five goals in nine league games in Qatar. Transfermarkt rates his value at two million euros.

“Yes, it will be a difficult to remain inactive for six months, but I want to stay in Greece and adapt to my new surroundings,” remarked the 29-year-old forward after he arrived in the Greek capital. “I will have time to fully adapt to our tactics, and I will do my best during the training sessions. I am very happy to be here, I want to help my teammates be successful. After speaking to Panathinaikos, I told my agent to do everything possible to make this transfer possible. It was an easy decision to make.”

Reports have suggested that Carlitos will sign a three-year contract with Panathinaikos, which will be activated in June.

In the past, Carlitos has also played for the likes of Petrotest, Novelda, Aris Limassol, Villarreal B and Wisla Krakow. Incidentally, in the summer, he participated in the two UEFA Europa League qualifiers against Atromitos, as Legia triumphed 2-0 on aggregate.

MOLLO OFFICIALLY LEAVES

French attacker Yohan Mollo, who failed to make any kind of impact at Panathinaikos after joining the club in late July, has moved on loan to US Orleans in his native France for the remainder of the 2019/2020 season.

US Orleans are currently competing in Ligue 2.

In the first half of the campaign, Mollo made a grand total of six appearances for Panathinaikos across all competitions, registering the equalising goal in a 1-1 draw against Olympiacos in the Super League. The 30-year-old fell out of favour with Giorgos Donis after several disciplinary issues.
