In early January, Aris unveiled the signing of Durmishaj from Olympiacos, with the 23-year-old forward transferring to the Thessaloniki-based organisation on loan for the remainder of the 2019/2020 campaign. However, after making his debut against PAOK in the Super League, Durmishaj was subsequently banned from competing for Aris as the club received a transfer ban for owing debts to former players.

eless, after a majority of 3-0 in the Hellenic Football Federation voted in favour of lifting the ban, Aris are now allowed to sign Greek players again and successfully registered Durmishaj for Super League action. Durmishaj played during the 2-0 loss to Panetolikos last weekend.

On the other hand, while Aris can now sign Greeks, they have not yet received permission from either FIFA or UEFA to acquire foreign footballers. Aris have revealed that they are hoping to sort out the situation soon.

Aris, who will soon play against Atromitos in the quarter-finals of the Greek Cup, currently occupy fifth place of the Super League standings with 29 points from 21 games.
