Ergotelis leave it late in Cretan derby

Ergotelis ended 2019 on a high note as they recorded a late, dramatic 1-0 victory over Cretan rivals Chania in Monday’s Super League 2 action. The hero was Manolis Rovithis, who netted his sixth goal of the campaign, from close range, to give Ergotelis their fifth win of the season. It was a bitter result for the visitors as they created more goal-scoring opportunities in the match, particularly in the opening half.
The result moves Ergotelis into sixth place as Chania retreat to eighth and out of playoff contention. Monday’s fixture concluded play in the Super League 2 for 2019 as the league will continue with matchday 11 in 2020.
