Panathinaikos have a deep history in the EuroLeague pre-dating the league’s modern history under the governance of EuroLeague Basketball.

The Trifylli’s six EuroLeague titles ranks third all-time for most titles won as the Athenians have walked away with the crown in all but one of their seven trips to the EuroLeague Final.

Some of the best players to ever play in the EuroLeague have dawned the green-and-white of Panathinaikos, and with that some of the best-ever performances in the competition have come from Panathinaikos players.

Interestingly, however, some of the most dominant performances from Panathinaikos players have come in the last two seasons.

POINTS

Any clash with Olympiacos is a special night for Panathinaikos, but earlier this season the derby meeting at the OAKA Olympic Indoor Hall was made extra special by Tyrese Rice. A career-high 41 points from Rice powered Panathinaikos to a thrilling overtime win over their archrivals, making Rice just one of nine players to notch 40+ points in a EuroLeague game.

Anadolu Efes’ Shane Larkin’s 49-point peformance earlier this season is the all-time EuroLeague record for most points in a game.

REBOUNDS

In what is statistically his best game ever, Dinos Mitoglou set the Panathinaikos single-game record for most rebounds with 16 in a road win over CSKA Moscow earlier this season. Notching 8 boards at each end of the court, Mitoglou also notched career-highs in points (25), assists (2), and index rating (34).

Antonis Fotsis holds the all-time record with his 24-rebound night for Dynamo Moscow during the 2006/2007 season.

ASSISTS

One of the best passers in the game, Nick Calathes is slowly closing in on Vassilis Spanoulis’ lead for the most EuroLeague assists. If Calathes can continue to churn performances like his 18-assist performance against both Buducnost (4/4/19) and CSKA Moscow (3/1/20), it’s only a matter of time before he overtakes Spanoulis for the all-time lead.

Both Facundo Campazzo and Stefan Jovic hold the all-time EuroLeague record with 19 assists for Real Madrid and Crvena Zvezda respectively.

STEALS

A six-time winner of the EuroLeague’s Defender of the Year award, it would be absurd to think anybody but Dimitris Diamantidis held the record for most steals by a Panathinaikos player. The now retired Trifylli icon even holds the competition record for most all-time steals with 434, a tally that includes the seven steals he managed in a home win against Unicaja Malaga during the 2006/2007 season.

Fenerbahce Ulker’s Jeff Trepagnier holds the all-time record with 11 steals in a game during the 2005/2006 season.

BLOCKS

Another Panathinaikos player to once win Defender of the Year honours, Stephane Lasme holds the club record for most blocks in a game after he notched an impressive six blocks in a road defeat to Maccabi Tel Aviv during the 2013/2014 season.

Stojan Vrankovic’s 10-block performance for Bologna during the 2000/2001 season remains the all-time record.
