Panetolikos thrashed a woeful Panionios 5-0 in Agrinio on Monday night to put themselves within sight of a potential European place.

Traianos Dellas’ side simply had too much quality and firepower for their opponents from Nea Smyrni, as goals from Arghus, Admir Bajrovic, Willyan and a Franco Mazurek double sealed a comfortable three-point haul.
The home side dominated proceedings from start to finish in what was a one-sided affair at the Panetolikos Stadium, with Panionios on the wrong end of a heavy defeat for the second week running following last weekend’s 3-0 loss to Atromitos.
The result means Panetolikos leapfrogged Panatinaikos into sixth place, and they are now just four points behind Aris who occupy the last European place in fifth.
Panionios will now be nervously looking over their shoulders as the Panthers are now in 12th spot, just seven points clear of the relegation zone.
