Football League campaign to begin on October 27/28
Following a dispute with broadcasting company ERT, the start date of the 2018/2019 Football League season has finally been set, with the campaign due to begin on the weekend of October 27/28.
Initially, there were hopes that the 2018/2019 Football League season would start in mid-October, however problems arose with ERT concerning the television deal for the new campaign. Eventually, after weeks of uncertainty, the two parties have reached an agreement and the season will begin on the weekend of October 27/28.
Before the season starts, all participating Football League clubs will be assessed to see whether they are fit to compete in the championship, something which prevented the campaign from beginning a week earlier on October 20/21. The calendar has already been published.
These following fixtures will take place for the opening round of the 2018/2019 Football League season on October 27/28:
AE Sparti - AO Chania Kissamikos
Panachaiki - Aiginiakos
Ergotelis - Apollon Pontou
Apollon Larissa - AOK Kerkyra
Trikala - Doxa Dramas
Iraklis - Irodotos
Volos - Karaiskakis
Platanias - Aittitos Spata
