Fountas is displaying the undoubted potential which he possess. Overall, the 24-year-old has played for a grand total of eight clubs as a professional, but it seems that he has finally found stability in Vienna. Since Fountas joined Rapid in the summer, he has subsequently flourished, scoring 11 goals in 15 Bundesliga appearances. Statistically, this is already the best season of his career, and recent reports have suggested that John van ‘t Schip will summon him to the senior Greek national team in the next international break.

Over in the Netherlands, young striker Vangelis Pavlidis is continuing his rapid development with Willem II, registering nine goals in the Eredivisie while also hitting the target for the national team in a UEFA Euro 2020 qualifier against Bosnia. Pavlidis, still only 21 years of age, has fellow Greek attacker Marios Vrousai for company in Tilburg, and the latter has scored three goals of his own in all tournaments.

In Germany, Dimitris Diamantakos has been among the goals with St. Pauli in the second tier, tallying a grand total of seven markers in just 11 matches. Elsewhere, Tasos Bakasetas, who left AEK in favour of Alanyaspor after the 2018/2019 season ended, has grabbed six goals in the Super Lig with his club currently occupying sixth position of the standings. Alanyaspor teammate Georgios Tzavellas has scored twice in the Turkish Cup.

Elsewhere, Konstantinos Mitroglou has barely received a chance at PSV Eindhoven, Giannis Gianniotas, Nikos Kaltsas and Giorgos Galitsios have tallied goals in Cyprus, Efthymis Koulouris initially made a positive start to life at Toulouse, Stelios Kitsiou recently netted two vital equalisers for Ankaragucu and Kostas Manolas has scored twice for Napoli in Italy.
