Giannakopoulos, a 2004 European champion with the Greek national team, occupies 20th place with his stunning goal against Porto in Athens during the 1997/1998 Champions League group phase. With only six minutes on the clock, Giannakopoulos neatly controlled a sweeping pass on the counter-attack, before he subsequently unleashed an incredible attempt which sailed beyond the stricken goalkeeper:

That proved to be the only goal of the game as Olympiacos held on to win 1-0 at the Olympic Stadium.

Ezequiel Gonzalez, who enjoyed four successful years with Panathinaikos between 2004 and 2008, is in 46th position of the list with his amazing goal against Arsenal in the group phase of the 2004/2005 Champions League.

In the 65th minute of play, with Panathinaikos trailing 1-0 at the time in Athens, Gonzalez grabbed an equaliser for the hosts in wonderful fashion. Charging out of his goal, Jens Lehmann could only find Gonzalez with his headed clearance, and the German goalkeeper was quickly made to pay for his sloppy pass.

Gonzalez, despite the angle being against him, somehow hooked a fantastic lob over Lehmann and into the roof of the net:

The exciting match at the Apostolos Nikolaidis Stadium eventually finished in a 2-2 draw.
