Valentini Grammatikopoulou then teamed up with Pavlou for the doubles match, taking on Cocciaretto and Giulia Gatto-Monticone. The Italians prevailed 6-1 6-0 to complete the 3-0 sweep of Greece.

The Greeks will now face Bulgaria in Saturday’s relegation play-off, with the loser to play in Group II in 2021. Grammatikopoulou and Despina Papamichail are expected to return to singles action for Greece after not playing against Italy.
