Greeks Abroad Review: Bakasetas, Vasiliadis, Ogboe find the net

In Turkey, Tasos Bakasetas continued his wonderful campaign for Alanyaspor, hitting the target in a tense 2-1 triumph over Yeni Malatyaspor. Over in the Bundesliga, Sebastian Vasiliadis scored a superb goal for Paderborn, while Marios Ogboe netted a marker for Hamilton during a loss to Celtic in the Scottish Premiership. Giorgos Kyriakopoulos also registered an assist with Sassuolo as he maintained his great form in Serie A.

MAIN MEN (Comprised of current/former national team players):

Sokratis Papastathopoulos (Arsenal/English Premier League): Remained on the bench during a 0-0 draw at Burnley.

Jose Cholevas (Watford/English Premier League): An unused substitute in a 2-3 defeat to Everton at home.

Panagiotis Retsos (Sheffield United/English Premier League): The new signing did not compete in the 1-0 victory at Crystal Palace.

Sebastian Vasiliadis (Paderborn/German Bundesliga): Scored a wonderful goal while playing the full 90 minutes of a 2-4 home loss to Wolfsburg.

Konstantinos Stafylidis (Hoffenheim/German Bundesliga): Kept on the bench in a 2-1 home triumph over Bayer Leverkusen.

Stefanos Kapino (Werder Bremen/German Bundesliga): Did not play any part in the 2-1 loss to Augsburg on the road.

Vasilis Lampropoulos (Bochum/German Bundesliga 2): Missed the 3-1 defeat against Hamburg at home.

Kostas Manolas (Napoli/Serie A): Played the full 90 minutes of the important 4-2 triumph at Sampdoria.

Orestis Karnezis (Napoli/Serie A): Watched Napoli beat Sampdoria from the comfort of the substitutes’ bench.

Panagiotis Tachtsidis (Lecce/Serie A): Missed the 4-0 triumph over Torino.

Charalampos Lykogiannis (Cagliari/Serie A): Left on the bench as Cagliari played to an entertaining 2-2 draw at home to Parma.

Odisseas Vlachodimos (Benfica/Portuguese Primeira Liga): Conceded two goals during a 3-2 win against Belenenses in Lisbon.

Andreas Samaris (Benfica/Portuguese Primeira Liga): Didn’t participate in the victory over Belenenses.

Dimitris Siovas (Leganes/La Liga): Played the entirety of a heavy 5-0 loss to Barcelona in the Spanish Cup before missing a 2-1 home win against Real Sociedad.

Efthymis Koulouris (Toulouse/Ligue 1): Played the entire 90 minutes of a 0-0 draw at Amiens.

Anastasios Donis (Reims/Ligue 1): Stayed on the bench as Reims thrashed Angers 4-1 on the road.

Konstantinos Mitroglou (PSV Eindhoven/Eredivisie): Used as a substitute in the 51st minute of a 1-0 defeat to Ajax in Amsterdam.

Marios Vrousai (Willem II/Eredivisie): Emerged as a substitute in second-half stoppage time of the 1-0 home win over Heracles.

Vangelis Pavlidis (Willem II/Eredivisie): Started the match against Heracles, eventually being substituted in the 88th minute.

Tasos Bakasetas (Alanyaspor/Turkish Super Lig): Scored in the 2-1 victory against Yeni Malatyaspor at home while playing the entire 90 minutes.

Manolis Siopis (Alanyaspor/Turkish Super Lig): Played the full game at home as Alanyaspor defeated Yeni Malatyaspor.

Georgios Tzavellas (Alanyaspor/Turkish Super Lig): Introduced as a substitute in the 57th minute of the same match.

Panagiotis Kone (Western United/A-League): Played 90 minutes against the Newcastle Jets, with the game ending level at 0-0.

GERMANY

Dimitris Diamantakos (St. Pauli/German Bundesliga 2): Sat on the bench with his team drawing 1-1 against VfB Stuttgart at home.

Ioannis Gelios (Holstein Kiel/German Bundesliga 2): Tallied a clean sheet as his team managed to beat Karlsruher 2-0 on the road.

Konstantinos Mavropanos (Nuremberg/German Bundesliga 2): Played the full 90 minutes of a 2-0 home triumph over Sandhausen.

Stelios Kokovas (Bochum/German Bundesliga 2): Did not play in the 3-1 loss to Hamburg.

Panagiotis Vlachodimos (Grossaspach/3. Liga): Substituted in the half-time break against Wurzburger Kickers. His club lost 6-0.

NETHERLANDS

Konstantinos Lamprou (Vitesse/Eredivisie): Kept on the bench with Vitesse playing to a 0-0 draw against Den Haag at home.

Giorgos Strezos (Willem II/Eredivisie): The back-up goalkeeper was a unused substitute in the 1-0 victory over Heracles.

Giannis Mystakidis (De Graafschap/Eerste Divisie): Emerged as a substitute in the 71st minute of a 1-1 draw at Eindhoven, picking up a booking for his troubles.

James Efmorfidis (Almere City/Eerste Divisie): Didn’t participate in the 4-2 triumph over Telstar at home.

BELGIUM

Giorgos Marinos (Charleroi/Jupiler League): Kept on the bench in a 1-0 away loss to Genk.

Nikos Kenourgios (Zulte Waregem/Jupiler League): Missed a thumping 5-0 triumph over Waasland-Beveren.

Dimitris Chatziisaias (Cercle Brugge/Jupiler League): Played the entire 90 minutes as Eupen defeated his team 1-0.

ITALY

Giorgos Kyriakopoulos (Sassuolo/Serie A): Provided the assist for the fourth goal of an impressive 4-2 triumph over AS Roma, playing the 90 minutes.

Dimitris Nikolaou (Empoli/Serie B): Stayed on the bench as Empoli defeated Crotone 3-1.

PORTUGAL

Alexandros Voilis (Casa Pia/Liga Pro): Played the eternity of a 1-1 draw at Penafiel.

TURKEY

Stelios Kitsiou (Ankaragucu/Turkish Super Lig): Helped Ankaragucu tally a 1-1 tie with Kasimpasa at home by playing 90 minutes.

Andreas Tatos (Altay/Turkish First League): Used as a substitute in the 75th minute of a 0-0 draw at Balikesirspor.

SCOTLAND

Marios Ogboe (Hamilton/Scottish Premiership): Scored while playing 71 minutes of a 4-1 defeat against Celtic at home.

HUNGARY

Theodoros Berios (Kisvarda/OTP Bank Liga): Played the entire 90 minutes of a 2-1 home setback to Ferencvaros.

Stavros Tsoukalas (Kisvarda/OTP Bank Liga): Also played the full match against Ferencvaros in the domestic championship.

ISRAEL

Andreas Gianniotis (Maccabi Tel Aviv/Israeli Premier League): Watched his team defeat Hapoel Raanana 2-1 at home from the bench.

SAUDI ARABIA

Savvas Gentsoglou (Al Adalkh/Saudi Professional League): Played the 90 minutes of a 1-1 home draw with Al Ahli.

ROMANIA

Aris Soiledis (FCSB/Liga 1): Sat on the bench during a 1-0 loss against CFR Cluj.
