On a day when torrential rain continued to pour down all over Greece due to the “Zorbas” storm, Atromitos did not let sodden conditions dampen their appetite for victory, as goals from Theodoros Vasilakakis and Roland Ugrai gave the Peristeri club a comfortable three-point haul.
Damir Canadi’s unbeaten team have put their Europa League elimination firmly behind them by winning four out of their first five games and top of the table with 13 points, ahead of Olympiacos’ clash with PAOK in Sunday evening’s derby match.
Levadiakos, who are battening down the hatches for a season of struggle it seems, are stuck on three points down in 13th spot.

Meanwhile at the Georgios Kamaras stadium in the Rizoupoli area of Athens, Fiorin Durmishaj scored twice to give Panionios their first three-point haul of the season at winless Apollon Smyrnis.
The 21-year-old Albanian striker scored in the 37th and 50th minutes to ensure the Panthers, who were desperately unlucky to lose 1-0 to Olympiacos last week, finally got their first win.
The result enabled the Nea Smyrni club to end a run of three straight defeats without scoring a goal and moved them up to 11th place with four points, while basement boys Apollon remain stuck on zero points after five losses in a row.
