Kapino was reinstated into Olympiacos’ first team after the Greek international met with new head coach, Takis Lemonis, and discussed his situation. Sir Takis believes in the young goalkeeper’s abilities and with the approval of Olympiacos’ management, Kapino began training with the first team once again.

Following his performance in last week’s derby against AEK, the 23-year old was forced to train with the club’s U-20 side and was left out of the roster for Olympiacos’ midweek fixture away to Juventus in the UEFA Champions League. Silvio Proto started in the Olympiacos goal and did not let his opportunity slip, putting together an impressive performance against the Italian champion.

Kapino was not selected for the roster that will face Atromitos at the Karaiskakis stadium on Sunday and Silvio Proto is expected to start in the Olympiacos goal. Kapino’s dip off form did not cost him his place on Greece’s national team as he was called up by Michael Skibbe for Greece’s upcoming qualifiers against Cyprus and Gibraltar.
