Koniaris signs for Olympiacos BC

Olympiacos BC made another tidy addition to their squad on Monday, signing Antonis Koniaris on a three-year contract from PAOK.

The Erythrolefki released this following statement on their official website:

“Olympiacos BC announces its agreement with Antonis Koniaris.

The 22-year-old playmaker will play in Piraeus for the next three years.”

Koniaris, 22, arrives in Piraeus after spending the past three years with PAOK in Thessaloniki. During the 2018/2019 season, the promising point guard participated in the Basketball Champions League, posting an average of 5.7 points, 2.5 rebounds and 2.2 assists per game.

In the Basket League, Koniaris competed in 26 PAOK matches, averaging 4.8 points, 2 rebounds and 2.8 assists with the Dikefalos tou Vorra. PAOK were knocked out of the first round of the playoffs by eventual finalists Promitheas.

Koniaris initially began his career with PAOK, but in 2014, he transferred to Panathinaikos where he played for two years. In that spell, he won the Greek Cup twice.
