The first case of COVID-19 has been registered in the Super League. On Friday, Xanthi revealed that one of their players has been diagnosed with the virus after testing was conducted earlier this week, news which consequently means that their game with Lamia on the road cannot take place tomorrow as originally planned. All other Xanthi players have been quarantined and will be tested on a further two occasions before they receive the green light to compete on the pitch.

Later in the evening, the Super League organisation confirmed that the Lamia - Xanthi game has been rescheduled for Monday:

“It announced that the Lamia - Xanthi match of the fifth round of the Super League playouts is set for Monday 6 July at 19:30, for precautionary reasons, after a positive case of COVID-19 was found in a Xanthi player.”

At the moment, Lamia occupy 10th place of the Super League standings with 32 points on the board, while Xanthi are down in 12th spot with 22 points as they battle against relegation.
