In Larissa there was little to choose between the two teams in a match low on quality, with the best goalmouth action coming late on.

First Larissa were thwarted by the woodwork in the 70th minute when Serbian midfielder Radomir Milosavljević headed against the right post, then seven minutes later it was Aris’ turn to pass up a match-winning chance.

Following a great left-wing cross from Hungarian defender Mihály Korhut, French forward Nicolas Diguiny headed goalwards only to see home keeper Ögmundur Kristinsson parry the ball to safety.

The result moved Aris up one place to sixth ahead of Panathinaikos, who play on Monday at Lamia, while Larissa also move up one place to 10th.

OFI thump Panaitolikos to boost survival hopes

OFI 3 - 0 Panetolikos
Nabi 26',74'
Vouho 86'

OFI Crete thumped high-flying Panaitolikos 3-0 on Sunday at the Theodoros Vardinogiannis stadium to give their survival hopes a huge boost and end a solid recent run put together by Panaitolikos.

A double strike from English debutant Adil Nabi and a late goal from Dijilly Vouho secured an impressive three-point haul for Nikos Papadopoulos Cretan outfit on an afternoon where nothing went right for Panaitolikos.

The visitors, coached by Greece legend Traianos Dellas, missed a penalty at 1-0 down in the 38th minute with OFI goalkeeper Giorgos Strezos saving Vlad Morar’s spot-kick.

To make matters worse, Panaitolikos also had goalkeeper Dimtris Kyriakidis sent off in the 70th minute for a professional foul which replays later showed was an incorrect decision.

That didn’t matter to OFI, who climbed up to 12th in the table with 15 points, meaning they are six points clear of the relegation zone, while Panaitolikos are sixth (seventh).
