Leading scorers in Super League history
The Super League recently revealed the top scorers of the domestic top flight in Greece, with the legendary Thomas Mavros occupying first place with 261 goals to his name.

Overall, 3785 different footballers have registered at least one goal in the Alpha Ethniki/Super League, with Mavros sitting in first position of the list with a hugely impressive total of 261 markers on the board. In 1976, the forward was snapped up by AEK from Panionios, where he shone for the Kitrinomavri over the course of 11 years before subsequently returning to the Panthers. Mavros eventually ended his career following the completion of the 1990/1991 campaign.
In second spot we have Krzysztof Warzycha with 244 goals. A true Panathinaikos legend, the Polish forward claimed five league titles and five Greek Cups with the Prasini during his 15-year spell in Athens, firing the club to glory with his lethal finishing in front of goal. Warzycha eventually decided to hang up his boots in the summer of 2004.
Mimis Papaioannou (234) and Giorgos Sideris (225) are the two remaining players who have scored a minimum of 200 goals in the domestic championship.
The likes of Alexis Alexandris (186), Nikos Liberopoulos (167), Demis Nikolaidis (164) and Dimitris Salpingidis (136) are also high up on the list.
