Levadiakos, who surprised many with a solid season last term, clinched all three points to open their account for the 2018/19 campaign thanks to a Marko Markovski goal after 73 minutes - the Serbian striker’s effort coming just five minutes after Jovan Krneta had been sent off.

The home side had to stave off a late spell of pressure from the visitors, who had the numerical advantage but failed to capitalise as Levadiakos held on to get the positive result they needed after losing their opening match last week against Olympiacos.

Panaitolikos get off the mark against OFI

Panetolikos 2 - 1 OFI
Morar 23',58'
Ericsson (OG) 88'

In Agrinio, Panaitolikos also bounced back from an opening day disappointment by beating OFI Crete 2-1 in an entertaining match.

Vlad Morar struck a goal in each half for Traianos Dellas’ side, while OFI grabbed a later consolation goal two minutes from full-time when Sebastian Eriksson accidentally put the ball into his own net.

Panaitolikos did not have it all their own way at the Panaitolikos Stadium as an OFI side who are back in the top flight after a long absence showed once again that they will not be just making up the SuperLeague numbers.
