Levadiakos’ hopes of retaining their SuperLeague status suffered another blow on Sunday as they could only muster a goalless draw at fellow strugglers Asteras Tripolis, who wasted several good chances to win it and end their relegation worries.

In rainy conditions at the Theodoros Kolokotronis Stadium, the home side were in the ascendancy for long spells, but they could not find way past the Blue-Greens’ goalkeeper Vladimir Bajić.
Asteras forward Michalis Manias was denied by the woodwork in the first minute, while Nikos Kaltsas missed a clutch of good chances although credit must be given to Bajić, who had a usy night between the posts for the visitors.
The result means that Asteras are just two points clear of PAS Giannina, who occupy 13th, while they are just three points clear of the relegation zone. Levadiakos meanwhile, are seven points worse off down in the drop zone with just three matches to play, and two of those are against PAOK and AEK.
