On March 10th, Marinakis publically revealed that he had contracted the coronavirus, stating that he was taking all necessary medical precautions. Two days later, Olympiacos hosted Wolverhampton Wanderers in the first leg of the UEFA Europa League Round of 32 tie, playing to a 1-1 draw inside an empty Karaiskakis Stadium. Tests showed that no Olympiacos players, coaches or staff members had caught the coronavirus.

It has now been confirmed that Marinakis, 52, has made a full recovery from the illness. Recent medical tests proved that the Olympiacos and Nottingham Forest supremo has a clean bill of health again.

The coronavirus pandemic is continuing to cause devastation across the world. The vast majority of sporting competitions, including the UEFA Champions League, Europa League and Super League, have been indefinitely suspended as a consequence.

Olympiacos ended the Super League regular season with an impressive total of 66 points from 26 games in first position.
