Former Greece legend Dellas, who coached Atromitos in the 2015-16 season, was in the dugout for the first time as Panaitolikos took all three points thanks to a superb strike by Farley Rosa.

The 24-year-old Brazilian was given too much time and space in the 48th minute about 20 yards from goal, and he let fly with a powerful shot which flew past Andreas Gianniotis.

Before the goal Atromitos failed to convert a hatful of chances, with visiting goalkeeper Dimitris Kyriakidis pulling off a string of superb saves to deny the home side.

The outstanding Kyriakidis also managed to keep out a 55th-minute penalty from the usually dependable Egypt midfielder Amr Warda, as Atromitos dropped points for the first time since a 1-1 draw with Panathinaikos in November.

Atromitos remain fourth, seven points ahead of fifth-placed Panionios.

Asteras Tripolis 3 - 1 Larissa
Manias 11',71'
Kiriakopoulos 84'

Nazlidis (P) 53'

Over in Tripolis, Asteras saw off Larissa with consummate ease as a double from striker Michalis Manias (11, 71) and a Giorgos Kyriakopoulos (84) goal saw them clinch a 3-1 home triumph.

Thomas Nazlidis was the man on target for the Vissini with a 53rd-minute spot-kick.

The result means Tripolis remain sixth but after capitalising on Panionios dropping points in their 1-1 draw at Apollon Smyrni on Saturday, they move level on 26 points with the fifth-placed Panthers.
