Nahuel joins Olympiacos from Villarreal
Olympiacos have confirmed the signing of winger Matias Nahuel, pinching the Argentine national from Spanish club Villarreal.

On August 31, Olympiacos managed to strike an agreement with Villarreal for the transfer of 21-year old winger Nahuel, however the Thrylos didn’t unveil the Argentinian until Monday afternoon. Nahuel has joined Olympiacos on a permanent basis, but in the future, Villarreal do maintain a resale percentage rate and can re-sign the player for a certain amount of money. Olympiacos revealed the arrival of Nahuel with this statement on social media:
“Nahuel Matias Leiva welcome to Olympiacos!”
In his first interview with Olympiacos, Nahuel shared his delight: “I want to thank the administration and the club president for forcing the transfer through. Also, I thank the Olympiacos fans who have shown me love already. I’m really looking forward to playing at the Karaiskakis Stadium. Yesterday, I saw the team win at home from the stands.”
In 2011, Nahuel moved to Spain to play in the Villarreal academy, but he failed to settle with the first team and was sent out on loan to Real Betis and Barcelona B, scoring five goals in 18 matches with the latter in the second half of the 2017/2018 season.
