OFI change emblem amid angry fan reaction
OFI have unveiled the club’s new emblem, but the news has been met by a furious reaction from the supporters.

On Friday, OFI revealed the shirt design for the upcoming 2020/2021 campaign, while also unveiling the new logo at the same time:
However, immediately after the Heraklion-based organisation held a press-conference to reveal the badge, OFI fans released a statement which expressed their overwhelming displeasure at the change of crest. The supporters were particularly angry at having not been given the opportunity to share their opinion with regard to the emblem.
OFI, having finished in sixth place of the 2019/2020 Super League, will soon compete in the second qualifying round of the UEFA Europa League. The Cretans haven’t been involved in European football since participating in the 2007/2008 UEFA Intertoto Cup.
Furthermore, in other news, centre-back Giorgos Koutroubis has departed OFI after just one campaign with the Cretan team. Overall, the 29-year-old defender made 29 appearances for OFI across all competitions, not scoring any goals.
