Watch LIVE from AGONAsport the Greek Cup Final between AEK & PAOK on Saturday, May 12th.

The Erythrolefki got off to a great start, going up 2-0 after the first period of play. In the second period, the Greeks would extend their lead to 3-0, before the Germans would score before halftime to make it 3-1.

In the third period, Olympiacos would go up 4-1, but then Spandau 04 would score three consecutive goals to level the score at 4-4. Konstantinos Genidounias would score for Olympiacos with 15 seconds left in the period to give the Erythrolefki a narrow 5-4 lead.

Olympiacos would go up 6-4 early in the fourth period, and Spandau 04 would score with less than a minute to go. However, that would not be enough, as Olympiacos defeated the Germans 6-5 to advance to the Friday’s semifinals where they will face CNA Barceloneta of Spain. Genidounias was the top scorer for the Erythrolefki with three goals. Stylianos Argyropoulos-Kanakakis, Ioannis Fountoulis, and Alexandros Gounas also contributed offensively with one goal each.

Olympiacos and Barceloneta played each other twice during the group stage of the regular season. The teams had a 7-7 draw in Spain, and Olympiacos came out on top 14-10 in Greece. Barceloneta seem to be in good form this week, destroying Hungary’s ZF Eger 9-4 in the quarterfinals. The winner will advance to the final and face the winner of the other semifinal between Italy’s Pro Recco and Croatia’s Jug Dubrovnik. Olympiacos are seeking their second Champions League title, as they were victorious back in 2002.
