The Erythrolefki were clear favorites coming into the second leg after defeating Lokomotiv Baku in Greece 3:0 set in their first encounter. Thursday’s matchup in Azerbaijan was no different as the Greek side had a rather easy night against their opponents, winning the match 0:3 set.
Olympiacos dominated the first set with a 12:25 victory and confirmed their place in the quarter-finals after taking the second set rather comfortably with a 20-25 scoreline. The third set was the closest of the three, but yet against it was Olympiacos who prevailed with a 24-26 victory to celebrate a place in the last 8 of Europe’s third tier volleyball club competition.
Olympiacos will matchup against Prefaxis Menen of Belgium in the quarterfinals. The first leg will be held in Belgium on February 14th with the return leg scheduled for February 28th in Piraeus.
