With seven games now in the books, Olympiacos have regularly shown flashes of what they’re capable of, but the Erythrolefki once again showed that they cannot play at the same level for the entire 40 minutes as they slipped to a disappointing 19-point loss to Anadolu Efes in Piraeus. Olympiacos have lost five of their seven EuroLeague matches so far.

This also marked Olympiacos’ third consecutive loss at home in the competition following previous defeats to Zenit Saint Petersburg and Maccabi Tel Aviv.

The consistent Nikola Milutinov tallied a double-double with 10 points and 13 rebounds for Olympiacos.

Vasilije Misic and Shane Larkin, registering 27 and 24 points respectively, were the leading lights for a strong Anadolu Efes side.

The reigning Turkish champions boast five victories in seven games.

THE MATCH

Olympiacos initially began the match in a positive manner by winning the first quarter by three points.

However, matters quickly took a turn for the worse in the second stanza, as Anadolu Efes burst into life by scoring 32 points in the period. The Turks started the quarter with a 15-4 run.

Brandon Paul did give Olympiacos hope by draining a fantastic three-pointer on the buzzer:

Olympiacos moved to within six points during the fourth quarter. Anadolu Efes were too strong, though, as they killed the Olympiacos charge and comfortably clinched the win.
