Olympiacos came from behind to defeat Dinamo Krasnodar 3-2 in the first leg of the CEV Women’s Challenge Cup semifinals.

The Russians cruised through the first set, taking it 18-25. Olympiacos would bounce back to dominate the second set 25-14. The third set was extremely close, with Olympiacos finding themselves up 16-14. However, the visitors would come back to take a 16-18 lead, and then extend it to 17-21. Olympiacos would tie it up at 21-21 and 23-23, but Dinamo Krasnodar would eventually take it 23-25.
Things seemed to be just about over for Olympiacos, as they quickly found themselves down 0-6 and 5-14 in the fourth set. However, they would make a stunning comeback to turn it around and take a 19-16 lead, before finally clinching the set 25-19 to send it to a decisive fifth set.
In the fifth set, Olympiacos once again were in trouble as they trailed 3-8. A run of seven straight points would see them take a 10-8 lead, before the Russians would respond to take a 10-11 lead. Eventually, Olympiacos would edge the visitors to take the final set 15-13 and win the match by an overall score of 3-2.
The second leg will be played on March 21 in Russia. The winner of this series will play against the winner of Bursa BBSK from Turkey and Nantes VB from France.
