Panathinaikos confirm Schenkeveld signing
Panathinaikos have confirmed the signing of a two-year contract with Dutch defender Bart Schenkeveld.

On Thursday, Panathinaikos released this following statement:
“Panathinaikos FC announces the signing of Bart Schenkeveld. The Dutch defender has signed a two-year contract.”
The 28-year-old, who joined Panathinaikos as a free agent, shared his emotions from the transfer: “Panathinaikos is a great club with plenty of fans. Every player needs this. Also, Athens is a very beautiful city to live in. I saw Panathinaikos play against Dutch teams in pre-season friendly matches, and they won with good performances. I like the fact that Panathinaikos are ambitious. My personal goal is to help the team become successful again.”
Schenkeveld, a product of the Feyenoord youth system, had left Melbourne City this summer.
In the past, the commanding defender has also played for Excelsior, Heracles and Zwolle. During the 2018/2019 season, Schenkeveld made 24 A-League appearances for Melbourne City, scoring the one goal. Transfermarkt rates his value at 800,000 euros.
