Former Panathinaikos coach Aleksandar Djordjevic is back in the news in Greece after it was revealed that his representatives have alerted FIBA over a violation of a court order by his former employer.

Djordjevic took over the Panathinaikos reins ahead of the 2015/2016 season on a two-year contract, but failure to guide Panathinaikos to the EuroLeague Final Four paved the way for the Serbian’s dismissal less than a year into his contract.

A long dispute over compensation was eventually settled in court where it was ruled that Djordjevic was entitled to a settlement of €350,000 with both sides agreeing to a payment plan over 17 months.

Djordjevic started receiving payments in April, but that all changed in August when Panathinaikos stopped following the payment plan according to Djordjevic’s Greece-based lawyer Giannis Marakakis.

Djordjevic’s representatives informed FIBA about the missed payments with the governing body giving Panathinaikos a deadline of 11 December to resume with the payment plan.
