PAOK-AEK to matchup in first 2018/19 SuperLeague derby
The 2018/19 Greek SuperLeague schedule was released on Thursday and AGONasport.com lists out all the big derbies for the new season.

At last we have a schedule for the 20181/19 Greek SuperLeague. After multiple complications and delays, the Greek SuperLeague draw took place on Thursday in Athens. For most fans, the Super League derbies are the most exciting part of the season and there will plenty to go around as a derby will take place for seven straight weeks in each half of the season, between matchdays 4-10 and 19-25.
The first big derby of the new year will be an exciting one as last year’s champions, AEK, and last year’s runner-ups, PAOK, will battle it out on matchday 4 in Thessaloniki. PAOK will then be tested one week later (matchday 5) when they travel to Piraeus to face Olympiacos, who will be hungry to return to the Superleague summit and be crowned champions for a 45th time in club history.
Olympiacos’ quest will continue as they look to take a step forward in dethroning AEK on matchday 6 when the Erythrolefki face the defending champions at the OAKA stadium. Matchday 7 will see the return of the big Thessaloniki derby between PAOK and Aris after the Kitrinomavri gained promotion to the Superleague after a four year absence. A packed Kleanthis Vikelidis stadium in Harilao will be expected for that fixture.
In addition to playing PAOK on matchday 7, Aris will play the other big boys on matchday 8 (@ AEK), matchday 9 (v Olympiacos), and matchday 12 (v Panathinaikos).
The final three derbies of the first half of the season will feature a financially stricken Panathinaikos side. The Prasini will travel to Thessaloniki to matchup against PAOK on matchday 8 before hosting AEK at the OAKA Olympic stadium on matchday 9. The final derby of the first half of the season will be the battle of the “eternal enemies” as Olympiacos host their arch rivals, Panathinaikos, on matchday 10.
