PAOK among Europe’s double winners

The 2018/19 season marked PAOK’s best campaign in club history. The Thessalonikis won their maiden Super League title in 34 years, becoming just the second team in the A’ Ethniki to win the league without tasting a single defeat, while also claiming their third consecutive Greek Cup title with a 1:0 win over AEK in the Final.
As a result, PAOK recorded their first league/cup double in their 93-year history. The Dikefalos tou Vorra were one of 16 teams in Europe this season to claim a domestic double. Among Europe’s double winners were AEK’s UEFA Champions League opponents, Ajax (NED) and Celtic (SCO), Olympiacos’ UEFA Europa League opponents, Dudelange (LUX), and Kostas Mitroglou’s Galatasaray (TUR).
