According to reports, PAOK have come to terms with Panetolikos for the transfer of Albanian defender Mihaj, with the player set to pen a four-year deal with the Greek champions. Panetolikos are reportedly requesting for 19-year-old PAOK centre-back Giannis Michailidis to be loaned to them in return.

Mihaj, 20, has become a key player for Panetolikos in the past two seasons. In the 2018/2019 campaign, Mihaj made 19 Super League appearances for the Agrinio club, and he has also participated in two matches for the senior Albanian national team after initially making his debut last September. He will compete with Jose Angel Crespo, Fernando Varela and Sverrir Ingi Ingason for a place in the PAOK defence.

SILVA DEAL STILL ON

PAOK and Akhmat Grozny appear to have struck an agreement which will see Ismael Silva join the Dikefalos tou Vorra.

Silva, a central midfielder, has long been linked with PAOK since the season ended and the Greeks are close to signing him from Akhmat Grozny. In the coming days, Silva is expected to fly to Thessaloniki, where he will sign a four-year contract with PAOK.

During the previous season, the 24-year-old Brazilian played in 29 Russian Premier League matches with Akhmat, scoring two goals and dishing out five assists. Transfermarkt rates his value at 3.5 million euros.

Silva transferred to Akhmat from Sweden’s Kalmar FF in August 2017.

FUTURE TARGETS, OLIVEIRA SET TO REMAIN IN PORTO

Moving forward in the summer transfer window, PAOK still want to sign more central midfielders to compensate for the departures of Jose Canas, Yevhen Shakhov and Sergio Oliveira with the vital UEFA Champions League qualifiers approaching in August.

In the second half of the 2018/2019 season, Oliveira impressed when on loan from FC Porto, netting three goals in the Super League with PAOK winning the title. PAOK would like to keep Oliveira in Thessaloniki, but with Porto willing to give him a chance, it’s highly unlikely the 27-year-old will return to Greece for the upcoming campaign.

In recent days, Lewis Holtby (attacking midfielder, Hamburg), Diego Reyes (central defender, Fenerbahce) and Santiago Caseres (defensive midfielder, Villarreal) have all seen their names linked with possible PAOK transfers.
