After narrowly losing 2-3 at home on the last matchday, PAOK traveled to Germany to try and avenge that loss against Friedrichshafen. This time, PAOK got an early 1-5 lead, but the Germans would eventually take a 13-12 lead, which soon became 20-15 and 23-18. Despite a late comeback by the Greek champions, it was Friedrichshafen who would take the first set by a score of 25-22.

PAOK hung in there for the second set, and it seemed that it could go either way as the score was 11-11 at one point. However, the Germans would run away with the second set, 25-17.

Friedrichshafen continued to dominate in the third set, as they raced out to an 8-3 lead and seemed to be finishing off the Greek champions with ease. PAOK would not back down as they reeled off four consecutive points to reduce the Germans’ lead to 8-7. The score was later 13-12 in favor of Friedrichshafen, but that would prove to be the beginning of the end for PAOK in the third set. The Germans would rally to take it 25-18, thus winning the match by a score of 3-0.

PAOK sit in fourth (last) place in Group B with an overall record of 0-4, while Friedrichshafen are in first place with a 4-0 record. PAOK’s next game will be on February 13, as they will host Halkbank Ankara from Turkey.
