In the summer, PAOK suffered European disappointment as they were knocked out of continental football, but they have since recovered to win seven out of 10 Super League games and occupy second place behind Olympiacos. Let’s take a look at the winter transfer plans for PAOK, with the club wanting to keep their key players at the Toumba Stadium:

POSSIBLE DEPARTURES

PAOK are reportedly hoping to offload Brazilian attacker Leo Jaba in the winter in exchange for a solid fee.

Jaba, 21, has endured a poor first half of the season. In the previous campaign, the gifted Brazilian showed regular flashes of the undoubted potential which he possesses, however his development has since somewhat stalled. Jaba has played in nine Super League games without popping up with any goals or assists.

It must also be noted that injury problems have contributed to his struggles.

Reports are continuously stating that PAOK would like to cash in on Jaba in the winter. PAOK signed Jaba from Russian side Akhmat Grozny in the summer of 2018 for 2.3 million euros.

Transfermarkt currently rates his value at eight million. Jaba’s PAOK contract is due to run until June 2023.

According to Sport FM, PAOK supremo Ivan Savvidis has made it clear that both Dimitris Giannoulis and Dimitris Limnios are not for sale, however that isn’t stopping other clubs from tracking their progress.

Fenerbahce are showing high interest in Giannoulis. If the reports are to be believed, Fenerbahce scouts attended the UEFA Euro 2020 qualifier between Greece and Finland in Athens on Monday evening, with Giannoulis producing an excellent performance as he helped the national team earn an exciting 2-1 victory. The talented left-back, 24, has dished out five assists and scored one goal in 14 PAOK appearances across all competitions this season.

21-year-old Dimitris Limnios, who has been a shining light for PAOK and the national team with his wonderful showings on the right wing, is also attracting plenty of attention from abroad. Limnios has scored three goals and recorded four assists for PAOK as he continues to rapidly progress.

PAOK are determined to keep two of their most prized possessions in Thessaloniki for at least the remainder of the 2019/2020 season. Giannoulis and Limnios have release clauses of 10 and 15 million respectively.

POSSIBLE ARRIVALS

Although no names have been mentioned, PAOK are eager to make three signings in the winter transfer window with the organisation searching for a left-back, a holding midfielder and an attacker. There is also a chance that PAOK will look to shift out Miroslav Stoch with the Slovakian winger having failed to settle in Thessaloniki after arriving from Slavia Prague.

A meeting will take place next week between Savvidis and technical director Mario Branco to discuss the transfer plan in more detail.

PAOK are also keen to sign Josip Misic on a permanent basis from Sporting Lisbon. As it stands, Misic is due to return to Sporting next summer, however PAOK don’t want to lose him. PAOK and Misic have reportedly agreed to sign a four-year contract assuming the Greek champions reach a deal with Sporting.

Misic, 25, has scored four goals and tallied four assists in the Super League as the Croatian midfielder enjoys one of the best seasons of his career to date.
