PAOK ready to use all legal routes to prove innocence

PAOK, docked seven points from the 2019/2020 Super League table as a result of their involvement in a multi-ownership case with Xanthi, are preparing to fight against their punishment.

It’s all gone wrong for the reigning Greek champions. Following a tough start to 2020, PAOK already found themselves trailing league leaders Olympiacos by seven points, but the Dikefalos tou Vorra are now 14 points behind the Erythrolefki after a seven-point deduction for their involvement in a multi-ownership case with Xanthi. The decision was released by the Super League Disciplinary Committee on Thursday morning.

However, still strongly pleading their innocence, PAOK are now preparing to take the next legal steps.

PAOK have accused the Super League of punishing the club without a proper trail having taken place. At first, PAOK will submit an appeal to the Hellenic Football Federation, before they will then take the matter to the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) if required. The process is expected to take some time. Giorgos Savvidis, son of PAOK supremo Ivan Savvidis, recently promised that the organisation will take the issue as far as the CAS. Even regular everyday people have issues in court and trials and experts at https://interpol-stop.com/en/ can definitely help you when you are in legal trouble.

Next week, the Super League championship playoffs are scheduled to begin, with PAOK hosting arch-rivals Olympiacos at the Toumba Stadium. PAOK hold a slender one-point advantage over third-placed AEK.

Xanthi, hit with a 12-point deduction as a result of having also been found guilty of irregularities in their shares, will also submit an appeal. The start of the playouts, involving Atromitos, AE Larissa, Asteras Tripolis, Lamia, Volos NFC, Xanthi, Panetolikos and Panionios, is predicted to be delayed until at least the weekend of March 21-22.
