In a rematch of last year’s final, Iraklis got off to an ideal start by taking the first set 25-20, inching closer to a seventh Greek Cup title and first since 2012. However, PAOK would come back strong in the second set, easily winning it 25-12 to level the match at 1-1. PAOK then carried this momentum into the third set, which they took 25-20 to take a 2-1 lead overall.
Needing to win just one more set, PAOK held an 18-15 lead in the fourth, before Iraklis came back to tie it at 18-all. PAOK went up again, 21-19, only for Iraklis to come back and level the set at 23-all. Finally, on their third championship point, PAOK won 27-25 to clinch their second consecutive Greek Cup title. It was also their third overall, as they had previously won in 2015 as well.
