Papadopoulos named Sporting Director of Zenit
Manos Papadopoulos, formerly of Panathinaikos, has been unveiled as the new Sporting Director of Zenit Saint Petersburg Basketball Club.

Zenit released this following statement on Monday:
“Manos Papadopoulos has been named the new Sporting Director of the Club.
“The Greek specialist has already started working with us.”
In June, Papadopoulos revealed that he was leaving his post of Panathinaikos president, with the 56-year-old having made the call to hand in his resignation following the departure of owner Dimitris Giannakopoulos. Papadopoulos had spent 30 successful years with Panathinaikos, helping the Athens-based organisation to win the EuroLeague six times, the national championship on 19 occasions and the Greek Cup in 15 seasons.
Xavi Pascual, the former Panathinaikos coach who is currently the manager of Zenit, was eager to link up with Papadopoulos again.
Zenit will soon compete in their second EuroLeague campaign. The Saint Petersburg club, sponsored by Gazprom, possess one of the largest budgets among EuroLeague teams.
