Chania shocked leaders PAS Giannina as a late goal salvaged the Cretans a point in a 1-1 draw in Giannina. The hosts opened the scoring in the 16th minute when Krizman stole the ball from Andreou inside the penalty area and set up Leo, who gave PAS Giannina the early lead. The Epirotes had multiple opportunities to double their advantage, including Lolis’ effort that was denied by the woodwork but failed to do so. With Chania still in the game, they pressed on in the final minutes for the equalizer, and they found it in second-half stoppage time with Vrettos’ perfectly-placed shot finding the back of the net.
The 1-1 draw sees PAS Giannina maintain their seven-point lead atop the standings, with a game in hand, while Chania moved into a three-way tie for fourth place on 25 points along with Ergotelis and AE Karaiskakis.
Levadiakos’ five-game winning streak came to an end on Sunday as AE Karaiskakis earned a 1-1- draw in Livadia. The hosts got on the scoresheet first with Mantzios successfully converting a penalty in the 41st minute, but his goal was canceled out six minutes after the restart with Chatzistavros’ effort.
Levadiakos are tied for second place, with Apollon Smyrnis, on 27 points, but have one game in hand. AE Karaiskakis are in a three-way tie for fourth place along with Chania and Ergotelis.
