Pilavios: “Panathinaikos have good hopes of playing in Europe next season”
Former EPO President Sofoklis Pilavios participated in a wide-ranging interview with ‘SDNA’ and implied that Panathinaikos should harbour strong ambitions of competing in Europe as of next season and getting the ban overturned.

Former EPO President Sofoklis Pilavios partook in a wide-ranging interview with Greek sports media outlet ‘SDNA’ last week and shed some light on various topics currently plaguing Greek football. He spoke at length about the possibility of a ‘Grexit’ scenario, VAR issues, and the Ethniki, to name a few topics.
However, the qualified lawyer also spoke about Panathinaikos and his opinion about getting the European ban overturned in a bid to feature on the continental stage as of next season.
The Greens are currently serving a ban from participating in any UEFA competition for three seasons. This began in the 2017-18 season and ends this season. This means if the Trifylli qualify for the qualifying stages of next season’s UEFA Europa League, they would be unable to participate.
