Platanias snatch dramatic draw at Ergotelis

At the Pankritio Stadium, Ergotelis looked to be heading for joint top spot in the Football League, but opponents Platanias launched a dramatic comeback to grab a 2:2 draw in the Cretan Derby.

Until the 85th minute, hosts Ergotelis were comfortably leading 2:0 against Platanias, but Brazilian forward Miguel suddenly popped up with two goals to seal a highly dramatic point for the visitors. Ergotelis now trail Football League leaders Apollon Larissa by two points, while Platanias currently occupy fourth place with 14 points, two behind their Cretan rivals.
Last week, Ergotelis were held to a frustrating 1:1 draw at NFC Volos, but they began this game in excellent fashion. After nine minutes of play, 19-year old Giannis Iatroudis opened the scoring, before Kyriakos Mazoulouxis doubled the advantage for Ergotelis is the early stages of the second half.
Platanias appeared dead and buried, but in the final five minutes, they shocked Ergotelis. Miguel halved the deficit, and in the dying moments of stoppage time, the 26-year old Brazilian repeated the trick to level the game at 2:2.
Both teams are still undefeated in the 2018/2019 Football League campaign.
