The transfer process is nearing its completion. According to reports from Portuguese outlet A Bola, Podence will arrive in England on Sunday to undergo his medical at Wolverhampton Wanderers, rumours which have since been backed up by the British press. It’s believed that Olympiacos have agreed to sign Podence for a grand total of 30 million euros.

Unconfirmed reports in Greece had suggested that Podence wanted to compete against AEK tomorrow in the Super League. It’s worth noting that the 25-year-old was left out of the Olympiacos team for the midweek game in Heraklion against OFI.

In the current campaign, the diminutive Portuguese winger made 27 appearances across all competitions for Olympiacos, contributing with five goals and five assists. Podence offered plenty of energy, creativity and flair with his superb attacking play in Piraeus since joining Olympiacos from Sporting in somewhat controversial circumstances in the summer of 2018.

His value is rated at six million by Transfermarkt.

HASSAN RUMOURS

Last season, Ahmed Hassan impressed on loan at Olympiacos from Braga, scoring 11 goals in the Super League. After the campaign ended, the Egyptian forward returned to his parent club, but he has subsequently been unable to make an impact with Braga amid injury issues. The 26-year-old has only played in seven games for Braga so far, scoring the one goal in the national championship.

The media have suggested that Olympiacos are on the verge of securing another loan deal for Hassan for the remainder of the 2019/2020 season. The Erythrolefki will then be able to sign the striker on a permanent basis in the summer by paying between 3-4 million.

In other news, the rumours concerning the possible departure of Konstantinos Tsimikas appear to have cooled, with Napoli having been interested in signing the talented left-back. Olympiacos placed a price tag of 20 million on Tsimikas.
