The Serbian striker scored 10 minutes into the second half to settle a match in which PAOK dominated for long spells and were well worth the three points.

Razvan Lucescu’s side were on top from start to finish in this Matchday 5 encounter, and should have already been ahead in the first half when Prijović headed against a post just before the break.

That came after a first half in which PAOK enjoyed the lion’s share of possession and chances, with the likes of Vieirinha, Dimitris Pelkas and Omar El Kaddouriall impressing in midfield.

PAOK continued to lay siege to the visitors’ goal in the second half, and they were rewarded in the 55th minute through Prijović’s goal, which came about in a fashion the PAOK fans have become accustomed to.

Gojko Cimirot sent over a delicious cross which was headed back across goal by Brazilian defender Leo Matos, and Prijović arrived to slam home from close range.

The win moved PAOK level on 11 points from five matches and into second place behind leaders Panionios – who lead on goal difference – ahead of Sunday’s derby between AEK and Olympiacos.
