Panathinaikos released this following statement:
“Panathinaikos BC announces the signing of a 1+1 contract with Howard Sant-Roos.”
“It’s a great honour for me to become a Panathinaikos player,” stated Sant-Roos when speaking to the club. “Everyone knows that this is a huge team. I didn’t stay at CSKA Moscow because the coronavirus situation has changed the financial state of play. After I knew that I wouldn’t stay at CSKA, Panathinaikos knocked on my door and I liked their plan. I will give 100% both in matches and in training sessions. I don’t like losing.”
This isn’t the first time when Sant-Roos will play in Greece. In August 2018, the 29-year-old Cuban transferred to AEK, where he would stay until January of this year when he moved to CSKA Moscow. However, due to the reduced budget of CSKA, Sant-Roos was forced to leave the Russian giants.
Sant-Roos previously won the 2019 FIBA Intercontinental Cup with AEK and impressed in the Basketball Champions League.
