Schedule released for Super League playouts

The schedule for the 2019/2020 Super League playouts has been released, with the first round set to begin on June 6.

During a crucial Board of Directors meeting on Thursday, the draw for the Super League relegation playouts took place, with Atromitos, AE Larissa, Asteras Tripolis, Lamia, Volos NFC, Xanthi, Panetolikos and Panionios all involved in the process. Each team will compete in seven matches.

Here is the result of the 2019/2020 Super League playout draw:

Furthermore, the starting times of all opening-round games of the playouts were released by the Super League, with the first matches set to be played on June 6 with Panionios facing Volos NFC in Nea Smyrni (19:15) and Xanthi competing against Atromitos at home (20:00). On the following day, AEL welcome Asteras Tripolis to Larissa (19:15) and Lamia host Panetolikos (20:00):

Upon the completion of the playouts, the club in last position of the table will suffer immediate demotion to the second tier, while the side in 13th spot will subsequently face the second-placed team of the Super League 2 in a relegation/promotion playoff.

The schedule for the Super League championship playoffs was also revealed by the organising body. Initially, the playoffs and playouts were due to begin in March following the end of the regular season, but they were postponed as a consequence of the coronavirus pandemic.
